Is bridging loan availability improving?
Are the recent improvements in mortgage availability feeding through to the short term lending market and housing in general?
More Mortgages, House Price Increases - Good news at last!
With more mortgages available, quarter on quarter house price rises and a forecast of a small year on year rise, is this the beginning of the end of the credit crunch!
We are not out of the woods yet, but the signs are encouraging with both the Nationwide and Halifax reporting increased property prices over the last 3 months!
Over the last few months the following may suggest that improvements are on the way:-
- The property development loan market has seen the return of at least one bridging lender, with a particular focus small niche developments.
- Another bridging finance lender has recently raised £75m of additional capital to boost lending.
- Finally, another has recently reported a 100%+ increase in lending rather than the usual "increase in enquiries" line.
